Gold is one of the precious metals in the world.As most of us know,Gold is used in the fields of Jewelry,Monetary Exchange,Electronics etc.In addition to these applications,Gold is also very popular as an additional ingredient and a decorative material for foods and beverages with the code E number E175.

E numbers are number codes for food additives that have been assessed for use within the European Union(the "E" prefix stands for "Europe").They are commonly found on food labels throughout the European Union.

In some cultures gold (and silver) leaf is considered non-toxic when labeled as food-grade and so can be used to decorate food or drink.Such a leaf is called Vark.They can be found on a number of desserts including chocolates and mithai.

In Asian countries, gold in particular is sometimes used in fruit jelly snacks. It was also used in coffee, especially during Japan's "bubble economy". In Kanazawa, where Japan's gold leaf production was centred, gold leaf shops and workshops sell green tea and hard candy with gold leaf within. In the late 1870s, alcohol was consumed with gold leafs to give the appearance of great wealth.



Gold is very popular as an additional ingredient in alcoholic drinks such as the traditional liqueur from Germany and Poland called Goldwasser (Goldwater), which contains thousands of tiny gold layer. You must have seen this place many times in movies like Anaganga O Dheerudu(Premalekha Raasene Song),Salute(Ninnena Song),Ashok(Mumtaj Mahalu Song),Sankranthi(Andala Srimathiki Song).

And you must have mistaken them as Ice blocks and the water on it is due to its melting BUT IT ISN'T

They are large blocks of Mineral Deposits at Pamukkale.

Pamukkale(Cotton Castle) is one of the most interesting places in the world, justly famous not only for the entrancing beauty of its unique geological formations but also for its historical remains.

Waters in the terraces are the sediments of the springs with calcium bicarbonate in 33C. Waters, containing mainly calcium salts and carbon-dioxide, run off the plateau's by depositing calcium while carbon-dioxide disappearing. The marvelous landscape of Pamukkale has been created by this gradual formation, leaving a cotton-like image. Located above the theatre of Hierapolis, the mineral water sources from the thermal springs of Cal Mountain. It is collected in a pool, known as the "Sacred Pool" of ancient times, where you can swim amidst the historical remains of Hierapolis. The Sacred Pool is now located inside Pamukkale Hotel.
